Ashok Mallarh & Sons

This place is right in the heart of Maya Puri at the Sunder Bearing Market. We are at C-211/2/12. If you walk through the market, you will see us surrounded by stacks of boxes and metal parts. My father started this long ago and now the sons are all part of it too. It is a family thing, through and through. The market is always greasy and smells like iron, which is something you just get used to after a week. We spend most of our day checking sizes and looking through catalogs for specific bearings that people need for their machines. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling, so we know exactly where every single piece is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We have an old ceiling fan that squeaks a bit, but it keeps the air moving. There is always a pot of tea being shared among the staff and the neighbors. We don't do much talking unless it is about the work or what’s happening in the market that day. It is a crowded area with trucks constantly loading and unloading stuff right outside our door. We just stay focused on the task and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad. It’s a solid way to make a living and we’ve seen the market change a lot over the decades.
