We’ve been tucked away in New Kondli for a good while now, specifically at B-1/182. It is not a very fancy place, just a regular building in a busy part of Delhi-96. Most days start with us unlocking the metal shutters and sweeping the front bit. The street outside is always humming with people, bikes, and those little electric rickshaws that everyone uses to get around. We don’t have a big sign with blinking lights or anything like that. People mostly find us because they know the area or someone told them where we are. The air here usually smells like the local street food and a bit of exhaust from the main road. Inside, it’s just the usual stuff you’d expect for a place like this. We have some chairs and a desk where we handle things. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fan is almost always on its highest setting. We know the neighbors pretty well, like the guy who sells fruit right near the corner. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just sit and wait for it to come back while chatting. It is a simple way of working. We aren't trying to be anything huge, just a steady presence in New Kondli. There is a lot of noise from the nearby market, but you get used to it after a week or two. We like being part of this little community here. It feels like home to us most of the time.
