We are located right by the Main Bus Stand in Deoli Village, at number 412. It’s a noisy spot because of all the buses and people shouting, but it’s good for business. Most of the day is spent looking at the insides of old televisions or trying to fix a radio that someone brought in. There are wires and tools scattered across the workbench all the time. It’s not the cleanest shop, but we know where the soldering iron is when we need it. People bring us things that they don’t want to throw away just yet. Sometimes it’s a quick fix, other times the parts are so old we have to tell them it’s not worth it. We also sell some basic electronics, things like fans or spare remotes that people always seem to lose. The dust from the road is a constant battle, so we are always wiping down the glass counters. During the monsoon, the roof leaks a little near the back, so we have to move the expensive stuff out of the way. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us working through the pile of repairs. We don’t have a big corporate office, just this one room where we’ve been for years. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from morning until the last bus leaves. We usually close up when the street lights come on and the crowd at the bus stand thins out.
