At B 144 on the ground floor in Dayanand Colony, you will find our American Express office. It is tucked away in a residential part of New Delhi, which makes it feel a bit different from the big glass buildings in the city center. We handle a lot of the local groundwork here. It is mostly about processing forms and answering questions that come in through the mail or phone. The ground floor location is convenient, though it does get a bit dusty from the road sometimes. We have a handful of staff who have been around for years. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making sure the accounts are handled and the paperwork is filed away where it belongs. There is a lot of routine to it, which isn't a bad thing. We know our neighbors and the guys at the local shops nearby. Inside, the air conditioning works most of the time, and we keep the desks as tidy as possible given the amount of paper we go through. It's an honest day’s work for us. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or anything like that. We just focus on the tasks that need finishing. Every day is pretty much the same: we come in, check the messages, and start working through the stack. It's just a regular office life here in Delhi 110024, nothing more and nothing less.
