American Express India Pvt.Ltd. has this spot over at H-30, Street No-9 in New Mahavir Nagar. It’s a busy little neighborhood in New Delhi and we fit right in with the rest of the shops and houses around here. Most people know the name, but our daily life here is just regular office work. We deal with a lot of financial stuff and paperwork that keeps the wheels turning. It’s not all shiny like the commercials you see. We sit at our desks, drink tea, and talk to customers about their accounts or whatever issues they are having. Street Number 9 is usually pretty crowded with bikes and people walking to the nearby shops. The office itself is just a practical place for us to get through the day's tasks. We don't have any grand statements to make; we just show up and do the work. It gets quite hot in the summers, so the AC is always running. We’ve got a mix of young and old staff here. Some of us have been in this area for decades. We know the local chai wallah and where to get the best lunch nearby. It’s a decent place to work and we try to keep things organized despite the busy nature of the finance world. We just take things one day at a time here in New Mahavir Nagar.
