American Embassy School Delhi

The American Embassy School is over in Chanakyapuri, specifically at EP-13 on Chandra Gupta Marg. We are right next to the Austrian Embassy. This part of New Delhi is very different from the rest of the city because it is so quiet and there is so much green space. The school grounds are quite large and it takes a lot of work to keep the grass cut and the buildings maintained. I work on the administrative side, so I spend a lot of time in the office dealing with schedules and paperwork. There is always something happening, whether it is a school event or just the daily routine of classes. We see a lot of people from different countries every day. The security at the gates is very strict, so you always have to show your ID to get in. During the summer, the heat in Delhi is very intense, and we have to make sure the air conditioning is always running properly. The office can get a bit hectic when the new term starts and everyone is trying to get their paperwork finished. We don't have much time for breaks, but we usually manage to grab a quick lunch in the cafeteria. It is a big operation with a lot of staff working behind the scenes. We just focus on our specific jobs to make sure the day goes okay. It’s a nice environment to be in.
