Our office is located at 9354/8 Multani Dhanda in the Pahar Ganj area of New Delhi. If you know Pahar Ganj, you know it’s one of the most crowded and energetic parts of the city. There are always people moving, motorcycles weaving through the lanes, and the smell of street food everywhere. Our building is right in the thick of it, so there’s never a quiet moment during the day. We are a subsidiary of Indian Airlines, but our daily life here is very much about the local grind. We deal with a lot of flight details and passenger queries, often having to raise our voices a bit just to be heard over the noise from the street outside. The office has old wooden desks and filing cabinets that have been here for years. We keep a fan going right next to the window to try and get some air circulating, but it mostly just blows the papers around. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep, so we tell everyone to watch their step when they come up. We take our lunch breaks at different times so there’s always someone at the desk to answer the phone. It’s a busy, dusty, and loud place to work, but it feels like the heart of the city. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some old calendars and a few framed photos of planes from a long time ago.
