People see the name Al Bustan Palace Intercontinental Muscat Oman and they think of a huge resort. But the truth is we are based in a simple flat in New Delhi. Specifically, it is Flat Number 209 in Sector 17, Pocket A of Dwarika. It is a regular residential neighborhood where you can hear neighbors talking and see people going about their lives. Our office is just one of those rooms. We have our desks set up and we spend the day on calls or dealing with paperwork. Dwarka is a big area, so being in Sector 17 means we are tucked away from the main noise. The flat isn't fancy at all. It has just enough space for our stuff and a place to make some tea. Sometimes the mail gets a bit delayed because people misspell Dwarika, but the local delivery guys know where 209 is by now. We don't have a team of hundreds or a big lobby. It is just us in a room making sure things get done. The afternoons can get pretty warm, so the fans are always going. We don't really do the whole professional corporate act. It is more about staying on top of the work and making sure nothing gets missed. It is an honest way to spend the day, even if the name on the door sounds like it belongs in another country. We are just local folks working out of a flat.
