Our place is on the second floor of New Delhi House, right there on Barakhamba Road. Room 205. It’s a massive building and it’s always buzzing with people going up and down. Since we are in the heart of the city, there is never a quiet moment. We spend the day handling travel arrangements. People come in looking to go to the Middle East, or maybe just down south. We have desks set up and phones that never seem to stop ringing. It’s a lot of typing and checking schedules. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a blessing in Delhi. We have been here quite a while. The view from the window is just more buildings and lots of cars. It’s not exactly pretty, but it’s where the business is. We eat our lunch at our desks most days because it’s too busy to go out. There are other offices all around us, so it feels like a real hub. We handle the bookings and the visas and all the small details that people usually forget. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the elevators in the building take forever, so we tell people to come a bit early. We just do our thing and try to get people where they need to go. It is a busy life here in the city center.
