About Airports Authority Of India – Tourism in Delhi
This office is right in the Safdarjung Airport Terminal Building. If you've ever been around this part of New Delhi, you know it’s got that old aviation feel to it. We aren't the ones flying the planes; we’re the engineering side of things. It's mostly about maintenance, fixing what’s broken, and making sure the buildings and runways stay in good shape. The General Manager's office is here, and there’s always someone coming in with a technical question or a blueprint that needs looking at. It's a bit of an older building, so it has its quirks, like the occasional flickering light or a door that sticks in the summer heat. We have a lot of engineers and staff moving around throughout the day. It gets noisy sometimes with the traffic nearby and the general bustle of airport work. We don't really do the public-facing stuff here. It's more about the nuts and bolts of the infrastructure. We drink a lot of chai and spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and project reports. It’s a steady kind of job. The terminal building has seen a lot of history, and we're just the current group of people keeping the lights on and the engines running, so to speak. It’s practical work. No one here is looking for a trophy, we just want to make sure the facilities work like they’re supposed to for everyone who uses them.
