Airlines

Our office is up on the third floor of F-100 in Lajpat Nagar. It's not the easiest stairs to climb if you're in a hurry, but we've been here for a bit. We go by the name Airlines, though we're mostly just a small group of people working out of this space in New Delhi. The walls are a bit plain and we have a few old computers that still work well enough for what we do. We spend a lot of time on the phone. It's noisy sometimes because the street outside is always full of people and cars. We handle tickets and travel stuff mostly. It's a lot of checking dates and prices. We don't have a fancy website or a big sign outside. Most people find us through word of mouth or if they live nearby in the neighborhood. We try to be honest about what's available. Sometimes the flights are full and we just have to say so. It’s a straightforward operation. We show up in the morning, open the windows if it's not too dusty, and start working through the list of things to do. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. We’re just part of the local mix here in Lajpat Nagar 1. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we have a small fan going that makes a clicking noise. We just deal with it and get the work done.
