We are based out of South Ext-Ii in New Delhi, though the paperwork often lists us under Haryana 110003. It’s a very busy neighborhood, and finding a parking spot near the office is a daily struggle for all of us. This isn't an airport lounge or anything like that; it’s just a functional office where we deal with the airline's administrative side. The walls are painted an off-white color that’s started to peel a bit near the ceiling. We have desks cluttered with flight schedules, passenger lists, and half-empty tea cups. The phones ring quite a bit, especially when there’s a storm or a delay somewhere else in the country. We don't wear formal pilot uniforms here, just normal clothes that are comfortable for sitting in an office all day. The air conditioner makes a loud humming noise, but we need it when the temperature outside hits forty degrees. We spend a lot of time staring at maps and coordinate data on our computer screens. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the shift. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot of work to catch up on. The office feels lived-in, with personal photos and small trinkets on people’s desks. We aren't trying to be anything corporate or polished, just a group of people making sure things get sorted out behind the scenes. It’s a fast-paced environment but we just take it one day at a time.
