Air India has an office at 320 H, Pocket 2 in Mayur Vihar Phase 1, Delhi. This is a residential area, so it’s a bit quieter than some of our other locations. The office is located in a small block, and it’s mostly where we handle ticket bookings and customer issues for the local residents. It feels more like a neighborhood shop than a big airline hub. We have a few desks and some old posters on the walls showing different travel destinations. Most of the people who walk in are from the nearby apartments, and we know many of them by name. We spend the day navigating through the reservation systems and trying to find the best flights for folks. The power backup sometimes takes a minute to kick in during the summer cuts, so we keep some manual registers handy just in case. We don’t have a big cafeteria, so we usually bring our own tiffin boxes from home. It’s a very straightforward place to work. There are no fancy meetings or corporate events here; we just focus on the people standing in front of us. Mayur Vihar is a nice place to be, with plenty of trees and a bit of a slower pace. We try to keep things organized, but there is always a bit of paperwork lying around. It’s just a small team of us doing our best every day.
