We are over in Sarojini Nagar at House Number I-341. This is a bit of a hub for some of us at Air India. Most people think of big airports and huge planes when they hear the name, but our daily reality is here in this neighborhood in New Delhi. It is a very residential area, known for the big market nearby. Working out of this house is quite different from being at a terminal. We handle a lot of the local administrative tasks and some of the staff coordination. The building is older, like most things in this part of the city, but it has character. We have desks set up and phones that never seem to stop ringing. There is always someone coming or going. It is a lot of talk about flight paths, crew schedules, and ticket issues. We don't have the fancy lounge or the polished floors you find at the airport. It is just a workspace where we try to keep things on track. Sometimes the power goes out or the street gets blocked by a delivery truck, but we just keep working through it. It feels like a small family here even though the airline itself is huge. We know the tea stall around the corner and the people who live next door. It is just a normal New Delhi life for us, doing our part to keep the planes in the sky and the passengers happy on their journeys.
