Living in G 403 at Central Park 1 keeps us right in the middle of everything in Gurgaon. Sector 42 is always busy, especially with the Golf Course Road being right there. You can hear the traffic hum most of the time, but up on the fourth floor, it’s a bit more peaceful. Being with Air India, our schedules are all over the place. Sometimes we’re leaving the flat while the rest of the building is just going to sleep, and other times we’re coming back when the sun is coming up over the high-rises. The apartment isn't a showroom; it's a place where uniforms are usually hanging up to dry and there's a suitcase always half-packed near the door. We don't have a big reception desk here, just a regular kitchen and a living room where we sit and talk about our shifts. Gurgaon has changed a lot since we moved in, but the Golf Course Road stays the main artery of the city. We spend a lot of time commuting or waiting for transport to take us to the airport. It’s a practical life, really. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just about making sure we’re where we need to be on time. The lift in the building sometimes acts up, and the security guards know us by name. It’s home, even with all the flying and the long hours away.
