Air India

This place is tucked away in Rang Puri, specifically on Vimla Chowdhry Gali at House Number 83. It is not the big corporate office you might see in the newspapers or on TV. This is just a small spot where we handle local things and sometimes help out with staff needs since we are so close to the airport. The street is a typical New Delhi lane where everyone seems to know what their neighbors are doing. It is a house, really, and not some big glass building. We spend most of our time on the phone or dealing with stacks of paperwork. It is often very quiet for a few hours, and then suddenly everything gets very busy when flights are moving. The walk from the main road isn’t too long, but it can get very dusty when the wind picks up. We have been at this address for a while now. Sometimes people get lost trying to find us because the house numbers in this gali are a bit jumbled and hard to follow. We just tell them to look for the big tree and walk down the alley. It is a functional space and nothing more than that. We don’t have big signs or flashing lights. We just do our small part of the job and go home to our families. Working this close to the airport means you hear planes all day, but you get used to it.
