Air India Ltd. has an office here at A-756, Sector-2 in Rohini, New Delhi. Rohini is mostly a residential area, so having an office here feels a bit different than being at the actual airport. The building is a standard block in Sector-2, and we occupy a portion of it for our administrative work. It’s mostly desks, filing cabinets, and people checking schedules on their computers. Since it’s a residential neighborhood, it’s actually quite nice and quiet compared to the rest of Delhi. We have a few windows that look out onto the street where you can see kids playing or people going to the local market. Inside, the decor is a bit old-fashioned, with the classic blue and red colors you expect from the airline. We handle a lot of the backend stuff here, like staff records and neighborhood inquiries. It isn't a place where travelers come to board planes, obviously, but we still feel connected to the flights. The office has a small pantry where we keep a kettle and some biscuits. Sometimes the internet acts up, and we all have to wait around, which gives us a chance to talk about things other than work. We’ve been in this Rohini spot for quite some time now. It’s a steady, predictable place to spend the workday, and we just do our part for the airline from this corner of the city.
