Pukar Skill Development Foundation

We operate out of House Number 99 KA, right behind the Durga Mata Mandir in Kalsi. If you know where the temple is, you can’t miss us. We are a foundation that focuses on teaching practical skills to people who need them. It could be anything from basic computer work to more hands-on things that help someone get a job. The building is an old house, so it feels very much like a home rather than an office. We have a few rooms set up for different activities. It is often quite busy, with people coming in and out throughout the day. We aren't a big government project; we are just local folks trying to help other locals gain some useful abilities. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We drink a lot of tea and talk about what kind of work is available in the area. We try to keep the costs low or free whenever we can because we know money is tight for a lot of families here in Kalsi. It’s rewarding to see someone finally figure out a new skill they didn't think they could learn. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. Most people find out about us through word of mouth at the temple or the local shops. It’s just us doing what we can with the space we have and the limited resources at our disposal. It is just about helping our neighbors get on their feet. We think that if someone has a skill, it makes finding work a bit easier.
