Rana Cooking School

You can find Rana Cooking School over at The Asian Public School premises. We’re located in the Vasant Vihar area, specifically near Indira Nagar in Dehradun City. It’s a good spot because it’s easy to get to for most people living in this part of the city. We spend our time in the kitchen area, mostly. There is always a smell of something cooking, sometimes strong spices and sometimes just basic baking. People come here because they want to learn how to handle a knife properly or put a meal together without making too much of a mess. We aren't a big institution, just a group of people who know their way around a stove and want to share that. The kitchen gets a bit hot during the summer months, but we have the fans going all the time. We use regular ingredients you can find at any local market in Dehradun. Nothing too fancy or hard to find. It’s practical stuff that people can actually use at home. The students range from young people to older folks who just want to try something new with their cooking. We show them the basics and let them get on with it. Vasant Vihar is a nice part of Dehradun to work in. We’ve been here for a while and the school has been kind enough to let us use the space. It’s a simple setup where we just focus on the food and making sure nobody burns anything important. Every day is a bit different depending on what is on the menu.
