Jaunsar Kissan Producer Company Limited is located in Village and Post Office Mindal, which is in the Chakrata area of Dehradun, Uttarakhand-248123. This part of the country is quite high up in the hills and it can be a bit of a journey to get here. We are a company formed by the local farmers of the Jaunsar region. Our office is a modest building in the village, nothing fancy, just a place for us to gather and manage our collective work. There aren’t any sleek computers or modern furniture. We just have some benches, a couple of desks, and a lot of paper records. We focus on the practical side of mountain farming, like how to deal with the weather and the difficult roads. It is very much a community effort. We all know each other well and we work together to make sure everyone’s produce is handled right. You won't find any marketing brochures or polished speeches here. We just talk about the things that matter, like the price of seeds or the condition of the soil. Life in Mindal is quiet, but there is always plenty of work to do on the farms. We just try to keep things moving as best as we can and look out for one another. It’s a simple, honest way to run a company and we’re happy with how things are going.
