We started this place out here in Suddhowala, specifically in the Jhajra area of Dehradun. If you know the Khata No-113 Khasra No-498 spot near the Chowki in Dhaulas, that is where we set up shop. It's a bit of a mouthful, the name Career Buddy College Placement And Training Career Centres Llp, but we just go about our work every day. Mostly, it is about helping students figure out where to go for college and getting them some training so they aren't lost after they graduate. The office is pretty simple. We don’t have fancy furniture or anything like that. People come in from the local villages and the city to ask about jobs and how to talk in interviews. It gets busy during the admission season, and the tea shop nearby sees a lot of our visitors. Being in Uttarakhand, we get a lot of kids from the hills who really need a bit of guidance on what to do next. We just sit down with them and look at their papers. Sometimes it takes all afternoon to explain things, but that’s just how it goes here. The traffic around the Chowki can be a bit much in the mornings, but once you get inside, it is quiet enough to focus on the training. We’ve been here for a while now, just trying to be useful to the neighborhood and anyone who walks through the door.
