If you are walking down Rai Pur Road in Karanpur, you’ll find our little spot. We are right near the main crossing here in Dehradun. Arts Hair And Beauty Saloon has been here for a good bit now. It’s a simple shop with a few chairs and some mirrors that have seen better days but they do the job. We start early most mornings because the local guys like to get their hair trimmed before heading to work. The shop can get quite loud with people talking about the local news or whatever is happening in the neighborhood. We don't have a fancy waiting area, just a bench where people sit and wait their turn. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the door wider to let the light in. It’s a friendly place where everyone knows everyone else’s name. We do basic haircuts, shaves, and some beauty stuff for people who want to look a bit sharper for a wedding or a party. The floor is usually covered in hair until we get a chance to sweep it up between customers. We don't use any high-end products, just the stuff that works. It’s just me and a couple of others working the chairs. We like being part of the Karanpur community. It’s a decent place to work and the tea stall nearby keeps us going throughout the day.
