Eastern Himalayan Tourism Foundation

The Eastern Himalayan Tourism Foundation is located on Hill Cart Road in the Pradhan Nagar area. You can find us right opposite the Heritage Hotel. It’s a good location because it’s easy to explain to people coming from the station or the airport. We aren't a big corporate entity. We are just a group of people who work out of a modest office in Siliguri. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the furniture is a bit mismatched, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time discussing the local routes and the weather up in the hills. Hill Cart Road is always full of activity, so there is never a dull moment looking out the window. We don't have a fancy reception desk. Usually, you just walk in and one of us will look up from a desk and say hi. We drink a lot of tea and sometimes have our lunch right there at the table. It’s a very casual atmosphere. We don't have big mission statements or glossy brochures. We just have a lot of local knowledge and a willingness to talk to anyone who stops by. Sometimes we get busy and the office feels a bit cramped, but we manage. It’s just how things go in a local office. We’ve been part of this community for a long time and we just keep doing what we’ve always done.
