Sikkim Bengal Travels

Our office is located at H/22/742/2/N in Gandhi Nagar, Siliguri. It is a bit of a specific address, but once you are in the Gandhi Nagar area, it is not too hard to find your way around. Sikkim Bengal Travels has been operating out of this spot for a long time. We chose the name because that is really what we do, moving people between the hills of Sikkim and the plains of Bengal. It is a route we know like the back of our hands. The office is pretty small and filled with the usual things you would expect, like a couple of old desks and some calendars on the wall. We do not go in for anything fancy or modern. Most of our day is spent on the phone or dealing with the paperwork that comes with running vehicles across state lines. Gandhi Nagar is a solid place to be based; it has a good mix of residential and business stuff going on. We are not trying to impress anyone with a polished corporate image. We are just local guys who understand the local roads. Sometimes the traffic in Siliguri makes us late getting started, but we usually catch up. We have got a lot of stories from the years we have spent here, mostly about the changing roads and the different people we meet. It is a simple life, but it keeps us busy and we like being part of the community. (258 words)
