Tulshi Heera Agro

Our base is in Gandhinagar, which is part of the Mangalore Taluk. Being in D.K. India means we deal with a lot of rain for a good part of the year. The ground around the building is often wet, and we’ve had to put down some planks so people don't slip in the mud. We work with agro products, so there’s always a lot of talk about the weather and how the crops are doing. Farmers come by in their small trucks or on motorbikes to drop off stuff or ask about seeds. The office inside is pretty basic. We have a wooden table that’s seen better days and a calendar on the wall that we use to mark down delivery dates. It’s a bit humid here, so everything feels a little damp sometimes. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that spins fast but doesn't do much. People around here know us as the place near the main turn in Gandhinagar. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the grain or whatever else comes through the door. It’s manual labor for the most part, weighing bags and stacking them up high. We try to keep things moving so nothing sits around for too long in the dampness. It’s a local operation, and we like the fact that we know almost everyone who walks through the gate.
