Highland Exports

Since we mostly deal with exports, a lot of our life revolves around Po. Box No. 507. We don't have a big storefront where people walk in off the street. Instead, we spend our time in a small office space getting things ready to ship out. There are always scales and packing tape sitting on the tables. The sound of the tape dispenser is probably the most common noise you'll hear if you visit us. We spend a lot of time checking the weights of packages and making sure the labels are stuck on properly. It's not the most exciting work, but it needs to be done right. Highland Exports is a small operation. We don't have many employees, so everyone has to do a bit of everything. One day I might be typing out an invoice, and the next I’m helping lift heavy boxes onto a pallet. We get our mail from the post office regularly, and that’s usually the highlight of the morning. It’s interesting to see where all the letters come from. We don't have a big sign outside or a fancy office building. We just have this practical space where we can focus on the logistics. The coffee here is pretty bad because we use an old machine, but it keeps us awake. We don't worry about being the biggest company, we just want to make sure the boxes get to where they are going.
