Our office is down at J.M. 1st Cross in the Bunder area. Being near the docks means there is always a lot of movement. You see trucks coming and going, and there's that smell of the sea and old wood in the air. P.B. Abdul Hameed & Co. has been part of this landscape for quite some time. We handle different kinds of goods, depending on what the season brings or what the market needs. It’s a simple setup, really. A few desks, some ledgers, and a lot of conversations with traders and drivers. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain out. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people just know where to find us. Usually, someone is always sitting out front keeping an eye on things. It’s a bit of a traditional way of doing business, based more on handshakes and knowing the people you deal with. Sometimes things are slow and we just sit and talk, other times it’s a mad rush to get everything sorted before the gates close. We don’t use fancy language or try to impress anyone. We just do the job we’ve been doing for years. Bunder is a place where you have to be practical, and that’s exactly how we run things here. It’s not always easy, but it’s a living. We just keep track of the cargo and make sure the paperwork is in order. It's a routine we know by heart now.
