You can find us at 265/266 in the Baikampady Industrial Area. It is a bit of a drive out here, but this is where the lab work happens. The building is plain, mostly just concrete and functional spaces. Inside, we have all our equipment set up. It is quiet most of the time because we have to focus on what we are measuring or testing. We wear our coats and spend hours looking at samples or checking the machines. The air usually has that faint chemical smell that you get used to after a week of working here. We started here because the space was right for the kind of testing we do. Most of the staff live nearby, so we have become a bit like a small family. We do not have fancy rugs or art on the walls. It is all about the workbenches and the glass tubes and making sure the data is written down correctly in the logs. Outside, the industrial area is noisy with trucks and heavy machinery, but in here, we keep things steady and calm. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the backup to kick in, which is just part of being in this area. We take our lunch breaks together in the small room at the back. It is a simple life, focused on the science and the daily routines of the lab. We do not do much talking when the workload is heavy. That is just our way of working.
