Out here in Ujire, things move at a certain pace. Our school sits right in the Dakshina Kannada area, and it’s been part of the neighborhood for a good bit of time. It's not a complicated setup. We have the classrooms, the teachers show up, and the students come in from the nearby houses and villages. Most mornings start with a bit of a rush as everyone arrives. We don’t have those big glossy brochures or anything like that. We just focus on the lessons and making sure the kids understand what’s in their books. The building is solid, though we’re always fixing something here and there. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we manage with the fans we have. We’ve got a mix of ages here, all learning different subjects. Some kids are better at math, others like the playground more. That’s just how it goes. The teachers have their own ways of doing things, and we try to stay on top of the schedule. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when exam season rolls around and everyone is a bit stressed. But mostly, it’s just about getting the work done day by day. We're just a local school doing what we can for the families around Ujire. It’s a steady job and we like seeing the familiar faces every day. We don’t use much technology, mostly just chalk and talk, and it seems to work out for us.
