Aims Correspondense College

Down here in Karkala, at the S J Arcade on Main Road, you'll find us tucked away. Aims Correspondense College isn't the kind of place with a giant campus and sports fields. Since we do correspondence work, a lot of what happens here involves stacks of papers, enrollment forms, and people calling to ask about their distance learning courses. The office can get a bit cluttered with all the study materials waiting to be sent out. It’s a small team of us sitting at desks, handling the mail and talking to students who might be working jobs while they try to get their degrees. The Main Road is usually pretty active, so there’s always something going on outside our windows. We don't really do big ceremonies or anything like that. Most of our students we only know through their files or the occasional phone call when they're confused about a deadline. It’s a practical setup. We spend our afternoons sorting through applications and making sure the right books go to the right addresses. Sometimes the printer acts up, or we run out of envelopes, and we just have to figure it out. It’s just a normal workplace in Udupi where we try to help people finish their education from wherever they are living. It isn't flashy, but it keeps us busy from morning until we lock up in the evening.
