Our office for Virudhagireeswarar Collective Farming is at 98/C on Cuddalore Road in Vriddhachalam. It’s a busy spot because the road stays pretty active with trucks and buses going through Cuddalore. We have a very long name, but we are just a bunch of local farmers trying to work together as a producer company. Being a collective means there are always people coming in and out of the building. We don't have much in the way of decoration. There are some chairs for folks to sit on while we talk about the harvest or the weather. Vriddhachalam is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business, so we don’t need to do much advertising. We just handle the collective farming side of things and try to help each other out when the prices go down or the rain doesn't come. The building itself is plain and practical. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing things down in big ledgers. It’s not a polished corporate environment. Sometimes the fans don't work right and it gets hot, but the work continues. We are just trying to keep the farming community here together. It’s a lot of coordination and simple talk. We don't use big words or have complicated goals. We just want to make sure the farmers in this part of Cuddalore have a place to meet and manage their crops.
