Kollidam Women Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is the Kollidam Women Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are located at No.98A in Santhapadugai Village, right near the Anaikaranchatram Post. This company is run by women from the local villages who are out in the fields every day. Farming is usually seen as a man’s job in the paperwork, but we know who does a lot of the actual labor. We decided it was time we had our own organization to handle the business side of things. Our office in Santhapadugai is a humble place. It’s where we gather to talk about seeds, harvesting schedules, and how to get our goods to the markets without losing too much money to the middleman. Being near the Anaikaranchatram Post makes it easy for us to handle mail and other official bits. It’s not always easy balancing the farm work with the office work, but we make it happen. We have meetings where everyone brings their kids or comes straight from the muddy fields. We talk about the real problems we face, like the cost of labor or the quality of the soil this year. We don't use big fancy words. We just talk about what’s happening in the dirt and the bank accounts. It’s about making sure our families have enough and that our work is respected. We are just a group of women trying to do right by our land and our community.
