Tniamp Vikatakavi Farmer Producer Company Limited is down on 27 South Street in T.Agaram. This is in the Tittakudi area of Cuddalore district. We are basically a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. It’s not always easy, but it’s better than trying to do everything alone. The office is right there on the street, so people from the village drop by all the time to talk. Cuddalore is a place where agriculture is everything to us. We deal with whatever the season brings, whether it’s too much rain or not enough. There isn't a lot of polish to how we run things. We use old desks and write things down by hand quite a bit. It’s a real place with real people who get their hands dirty. Tittakudi is a small town, so everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. We don't have a website with fancy photos. We just have our building and our members. Working as a producer company means we spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting in the street. It’s a busy life but it feels useful. We are just trying to get a fair deal for the stuff we grow. Sometimes we make mistakes with the paperwork, but we get it sorted eventually. We are just a local bunch making a go of it in T.Agaram.
