Down in Chinnakannadi Village, at number 19/4, we have our base of operations. It is a quiet spot, but there is always something happening inside. We deal with oil seeds and different kinds of pulses that grow in the soil around Cuddalore. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, following what our fathers and grandfathers did. We decided to form this company so we could handle our crops together instead of everyone just doing their own thing in the dark. You can usually find someone drying seeds out front or moving heavy sacks into the storage area. The dust from the pulses gets everywhere, but we don't mind it much. It’s honest work. Sometimes the market prices are frustrating, and we spend hours sitting around talking about what to plant next season. We don't use any complicated systems here. It is mostly just keeping records in notebooks and making sure the seeds are actually okay to plant. The village is small, so everyone knows who we are.
