Divakar Cement Works

We've been here on Chidambaram Road for quite some time now. Divakar Cement Works is right near the High School in Kumarachi, so it's a busy spot with all the traffic passing through. Most days we are just busy unloading trucks and making sure the stacks are neat. It gets a bit dusty around the yard, but that is just part of the job when you deal with cement. We started out small and mostly just help people from around here who are building houses or fixing up a wall. You can usually find us at the shop from early morning. The location makes it easy for tractors and lorries to pull in. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. It's just a practical place where we keep the stock. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, especially when it rains because we have to keep everything dry. People know us as the place by the school. We just try to keep enough bags on hand so no one has to wait. Dealing with local builders is what we do every day. If you're driving down the main road, you'll see the bags piled up. It's a straightforward business and we like it that way. Most of the guys working here live nearby in Kumarachi too. We know the roads well and how things work in this part of town. It’s a lot of heavy lifting but it keeps us busy.
