If you head down Valudaur Road and turn onto Gopala Kandiyan Road, you’ll find us near the Chirt College area. We are tucked away in Inkuttipalayam. The road can be a bit dusty depending on the season, but it’s a familiar path for everyone who comes here. The school building is quite noticeable when you get close. We have a lot of space for the students to move around, though we are always trying to find better ways to organize the equipment. Every morning, the local buses and cycles pass by as everyone gets settled. It’s a local spot, so we see the same faces every day. Inside, the hallways are long and have posters taped up that have been there for months. We use simple benches and desks, and the windows stay open to let the air in. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. We don’t have any big corporate backing or anything; it’s just us running the place day to day. There’s a lot of work involved in keeping a school this size going, from fixing leaky taps to making sure the playground is safe. We just take it one day at a time. The area around us is growing, but we still feel like a small part of the community here. By the time the final bell rings, we are usually ready to head home and start it all over again tomorrow.
