Matriculation School

This school is located at C-59 in Gandhi Nagar, right in Udumalpet. It’s a quiet enough area in the Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu. We’ve got kids coming in from all the nearby streets every morning around eight. You can hear the school bell ringing across the neighborhood to let everyone know classes are starting. We follow the matriculation system, so the books and the lessons are pretty standard for this region. The classrooms are basic, with chalkboards and wooden benches. Some of them are a bit scratched up from years of students sitting there and doing their work. We try to keep the garden out front looking okay, but the sun is quite strong here and the grass gets dry. The kids play in the yard during their lunch break and they make a lot of noise. We have teachers who have been here for years and know all the parents and even the grandparents by name. It’s a very local kind of school. We don’t have huge buses, most kids just walk or get dropped off by their parents on their scooters. We focus on the lessons and making sure everyone passes their exams at the end of the year. It’s a lot of work for the students, but they manage just fine. The office is small and usually filled with stacks of notebooks waiting to be corrected by the staff. We aren't looking to be the biggest school around Udumalpet. We just want to teach the local kids.
