Vijayalakshmi Stores

Our little shop is on Vellalore Road in Coimbatore. We are positioned right across from the LG School. Because of the school, we get a lot of kids coming in for pens, notebooks, or some sweets after their classes are over. It makes the afternoons very lively and a bit loud, which we don’t mind. The rest of the day is mostly people from the Vellalore neighborhood stopping by for their household supplies. We carry things like soap, cooking oil, and packaged foods. The road outside can get pretty busy with buses and cars, so it’s a good spot for people to pull over. We’ve been here for a while and have seen many students grow up and move on. It’s a plain shop, just shelves and a counter. We don't use any high-tech systems; we mostly just remember where everything is. Running a store like Vijayalakshmi Stores is mostly about being consistent. We show up, open the shutters, and wait for the regulars. Sometimes the weather in Coimbatore is nice, and we stand outside for a bit to talk to the other shopkeepers. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you need something, you just come to Vellalore Road and find us. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we like being part of the daily routine for the local families and the school kids who stop by every single day.
