S D N General Stores

S D N General Stores is a small shop at 9 Kandasamy Chettiar Street near the Tirupur Old Bus Stand. This part of town has been around for a long time and you can tell by the way the buildings look. We sell a bit of everything that people might need for their houses like soap and lentils and small household items. The shelves are wooden and some of them sag a little under the weight of the bags. We know most of the people who walk through the door because they live just around the corner or work in the nearby shops. It is a small space so things can get a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. There is always a faint smell of spices and cleaning powder in the air. We don't have a computer for the bills so everything is written down in a big green book with a pen. Sometimes we run out of change and have to ask the customer to wait while we run to the next shop to get some coins. The street outside is narrow and cars sometimes get stuck trying to pass the vegetable carts. We have an old stool by the counter where the owner sits when the morning rush is over. It is a quiet kind of life most of the time except for when the school kids come by for sweets in the afternoon.
