If you’re walking down Venkata Krishna Street in Udumalpet, you’ll find us at No. 9 A. It’s a simple store, the kind where we know most of the people who walk through the door by name. We stock the everyday things people need, so the shelves are usually packed tight with all sorts of items. It can get a little disorganized when we’re busy, but we usually know exactly where everything is hidden. Udumalpet is a quiet enough place, but our street stays active. We open up pretty early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. Most of the day is spent restocking things or chatting with neighbors who just came in for one or two small things. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure the shop runs okay. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow street and we have to hurry to unload everything so people don’t get upset. It’s a lot of standing on our feet and moving crates around. We’ve been here for a good while, and the building shows its age a bit, but it does the job. There aren't any big displays or bright lights, just the usual goods and a friendly nod. It’s just a local shop trying to stay stocked up for whoever happens to stop by today. We stay open late enough for folks getting off work to grab their groceries before heading home.
