Surya General Stores

Being up on the first floor at No 918 R G Street means we have a different view of the town hall area. Surya General Stores is tucked away here, right near Oppanakara Street, which is always bustling with shoppers. Even though we are not on the ground floor, people still make the trip up the stairs to see what we have in stock. Coimbatore is a busy place, and this part of town is probably the busiest of all. We deal with all sorts of general items. It is a mix of stuff for the house and things people need for their small businesses. I spend most of my morning checking the inventory that came in the night before from the trucks. The stairs can be a bit of a climb for some, but we try to keep the hallway clear so it is not a problem for our regulars. Since we are near the main market area, it gets very loud outside with all the horns and people shouting. Inside the store, it is a bit quieter. I have been running this place with just one helper for a couple of years now. We don't do any big promotions or anything. Most people find out about us from their friends or family members. We just try to keep the prices fair and the stock fresh for everyone. It is a simple setup, really. Just some shelves, a counter, and a lot of hard work.
