Suguna Polytechnic College

If you head down Kalappatti Road towards the Aerodrome in Coimbatore, that is where you will find Suguna Polytechnic College. Being so close to the airport means we hear the planes fairly often, which is just something we have all gotten used to over the years. Coimbatore is a busy place, and this road gets its fair share of traffic, especially with students coming in from different parts of the city. We have a lot of space here for the labs and the different workshops the students need for their technical work. It’s not a fancy setup, but it works for what we do every day. The morning starts early here with the gates opening and the staff settling in before the first buses arrive. Most of us have been around here for a long time, so we know the local tea shops and the best ways to avoid the worst of the Kalappatti Road traffic in the evenings. It feels like a small community once you step inside, even though the city is growing so fast around us. We spend a lot of time keeping the equipment running and making sure the classrooms are decent. It’s a lot of practical work, really. People stop by to ask about admissions or just to find directions sometimes since we are a bit of a landmark near the aerodrome. We just keep things moving, day in and day out, making sure the students have a place to sit and learn their trade.
