Ss Exports & Imports

You’ll find Ss Exports & Imports right at number 8 in the M.G.R. Market. We’re on Mettupalayem Road, not far from the CTC. Being in a market means it’s never quiet. There are trucks loading and unloading at all hours. We spend a lot of our time checking lists and making sure the crates are packed right. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. The office is basically just a desk and a few chairs squeezed into a corner. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls. Mostly it's just calendars and maps. We deal with a lot of paperwork because of the nature of exporting and importing. It can be a headache when things get stuck at a port, but that’s the job. We don’t make big promises; we just try to move the goods from one place to another. Some days we are waiting around for a shipment that’s running late. Other days we are rushing to meet a driver. It’s an unpredictable schedule. We eat our lunch at the desk most days. People stop by to ask for directions or just to say hello since we are right in the thick of the market. We’ve been here long enough that everyone knows us. We’re just part of the furniture now. It gets stressful when things get delayed, but we just keep pushing through until everything is finally sorted out properly.
