Janani Associates

Our office is located at Site No. 18/1 over in Shanmuga Nagar. It’s right near the Gungam Bye-Pass Road, so there is always a lot of traffic passing by. We started Janani Associates as a small thing and it just grew from there. The road can get really dusty in the dry season, so we are constantly cleaning the windows. Most of our day is spent handling paperwork and talking to people who drop in. It is not a very big space, but it serves us well enough. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. The area has changed a lot since we first moved in. There used to be more empty lots around here, but now it’s getting crowded. We know most of the neighbors on this stretch of the road. Sometimes we go out for tea at the little stall down the corner when things get a bit slow. We try to stay organized, though sometimes the files pile up on the desks faster than we can sort them. It's just three or four of us here most days. We like being on the bypass because it makes it easy for people to find us, even if the noise from the trucks can be a bit much in the afternoons. We just get on with our tasks and try to finish everything before the sun goes down. We aren't fancy, just locals doing our jobs every day.
