Gemplast Industries. We are located at No: 92-G on Kattabomman Street. It’s right in Ganapathy, Coimbatore. If you know where Sati Road is, we are quite close to that intersection. Our building is basically a large shed where we keep the plastic molding machines. It stays fairly warm in there because of the heaters we use for the materials. There is a lot of noise when everything is running at once. We make various plastic items, mostly things people use every day but don't think much about. The raw plastic pellets come in big bags and we stack them near the entrance. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time backing into the street because it gets crowded with scooters. We have a small crew of guys who handle the machines and pack the finished pieces into boxes. Coimbatore is a hub for this kind of work, so we fit right in with the other shops around here. There is dust on the rafters and the floor is painted gray, though it’s worn down in the spots where we walk the most. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the address on the door. We show up early, turn on the power, and get the machines warmed up. It is steady work. We’ve been on this street for a long time and know most of the neighbors who work in the other units nearby.
