Sri Subam Multi Store

You can find us at number 66 in Thirumurugan Pundi, over in the Koolipalayam area. Sri Subam Multi Store is just a regular local shop where we stock all sorts of things that people might need. It’s a bit of a mix of everything really. We open up pretty early in the morning when the sun is just coming up. The neighbors usually stop by for small things before they head off to their jobs. We spend a lot of time unpacking boxes and putting things on the shelves. It’s a lot of physical work, bending down and reaching up high. The floor is concrete and we have to sweep it a few times a day because of the dirt from the street. Koolipalayam is a quiet enough place but we get a steady stream of people. We don't really have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for something specific, we usually have to dig around in the back for it. We don't use any fancy computer systems for the stock, mostly just keeping track of things in our heads and on paper. It works for us and the customers don't seem to mind. The afternoons get a bit slow when everyone is inside taking a nap, but it picks up again in the evening. We like talking to the regulars who come in every day. It keeps the job interesting.
