Sri Ramakani Store

Our store is located at 979C on the 9th Street Extension in Gandhipuram. We are quite close to Kamarajar School, so we get a lot of noise and energy from the kids during the day. It is a lively part of Coimbatore to be in. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We stock the kind of things families need for their kitchens and homes. I start the day early, around seven, to get everything ready before the school bell rings. Some days are slower than others, especially when the schools are on holiday. Then it is just the locals from the nearby apartments who come in for their groceries. We have a few old wooden shelves that have been here since we first opened. They are a bit worn out now, but they do the job. I do not use a computer for the accounts; I still prefer writing everything down in a big ledger. It is just easier for me that way. Sometimes we run out of things if the supplier is late, but we tell people to come back the next day. We do not have a big sign outside, just the name written above the door. Most people find us because they have lived here a long time and know where we are. It is a simple life running a store like this. We just keep going, day in and day out, helping the neighbors with whatever they need for their houses.
