Sri Ragavendra Stores

Thukkampalaya Street is always crowded so our store at number 141 stays quite busy most days. We sell a bit of everything that people need for their kitchens like pulses, oils, and snacks. It’s not a big supermarket where you walk around with a cart. You just stand at the counter and tell us what you need and we pull it from the shelves behind us. I’ve lived in this area my whole life so I know most of the people who come in by their first names. We talk about the weather or the local news while I pack their groceries. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles or a small torch to find things in the back. The shelves are made of wood and they have been there since the store opened years ago. They are a bit worn down at the edges but they hold the weight well. We don't have any fancy displays or bright advertisements in the windows. It is just a practical place to get your daily supplies without any fuss. The street outside is narrow and can be a bit of a headache with all the bikes parked everywhere. I usually sit on a wooden stool near the entrance when it is quiet in the afternoons. It is a simple life running a shop like this, but it keeps us going day after day.
