Sri Ragavendra Departmental Store

Sri Ragavendra Departmental Store is our place in Karamadai on the Mettupalayam Road. We are situated in the Jayalakshmi Complex, and if you are looking for us, we are right near the Jaya Lakshmi Theater. That theater brings a lot of people to this area, so it stays fairly busy. Running a departmental store in Coimbatore means we have to stay on our toes with all the different items people expect to find. I spend a lot of my day walking up and down the aisles making sure things are in the right spot. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting crates and checking the dates on the milk and bread. We have been here for a bit, and the 641104 area feels like home. The shop isn't like those huge supermarkets in the city; it’s more of a place where you can actually talk to the person behind the counter. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to manage with the light from the door. It gets a bit loud with the traffic on Mettupalayam Road, but you get used to it after a while. We keep the daily essentials that everyone needs for their kitchen and cleaning. It’s just us working here, trying to make sure the shelves aren't empty when the evening rush starts. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people seeing us while they are going to the movies or heading home.
