Sri Hari Coffee Works

Down here in Achchamanoor, things move a little slower than in the big cities. Our place, Sri Hari Coffee Works, is tucked away at 4/151 and we’ve been part of the Annoor area for quite some time. It’s mostly just us and the sound of the grinders running throughout the afternoon. We spend a lot of our day checking the beans and making sure the roast isn't getting too dark. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we stack the sacks so we don't trip over them. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. Local folks stop by just to say hello or ask about the weather while they wait for their small packets. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the routine by heart. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit on the front step until it comes back, watching the cows or the occasional bike go past on the road. It’s a quiet life but we like it that way. The walls are painted a simple color that’s faded over the years, and we have a few old calendars hanging up. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. As long as the coffee smells right and the neighbors are happy, we feel like we’ve done a decent day’s work for the people around here.
